I spend most of my days talking to project teams, site managers and contractors across the construction industry. Despite working on different projects, I often hear the same frustrations:

• Project managers are stretched thin.
• Information arrives late.
• Suppliers don’t always provide what is needed.
• Close-out becomes stressful at exactly the wrong time.
• Everyone is busy, but nobody feels fully in control.

One thing I’ve learned

The projects that close out smoothly are rarely the projects with the biggest teams, the largest budgets or the most sophisticated systems.

They’re usually the projects where people start thinking about the end before anyone else does.

Simple idea.
